Alex Boardman Photography GCSE

For her GCSE ‘Portraiture’Coursework project Alex considered investigating what clothes, artefacts and possessions say about their owner’s character and personality. Her clear appreciation of colour, light and atmosphere helped her produce some very individual imagery.   



Phoebe Sek Photography GCSE

Phoebe produced a series of well defined and carefully observed studies of urban structure and landscaping, patterns and geometry, for her GCSE ‘Landscape & Architecture’ Coursework project. Here are a few of her stronger works.

Helena Xu Photography GCSE

Helena explored a variety of approaches and techniques, often using low or artificial light for her GCSE Portraiture project. Gradually paring down her subject matter and colour palette, she finally settled on this set for her final piece.

These three vibrant and arresting works are Ophelia's response to the A2 exam title 'Flaws, Imperfections, Ideals and Compromises', and show her using a selection of female symbols and imagery. The works are A2 size and mixed media.

Franci Donovan Brady Art A2

Franci's Personal Study for A2 focused on the graphic work of Andy Warhol and his connection later in life with Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her final responses incorporated text as well, but these two earlier paintings are particularly good examples of Franci's dramatic use of colour.

Eliza Innes Ker Photography AS

Eliza used the large scale images of Andreas Gursky as a starting point reference for her Photographers project. She produced a very strong set of studies of urban space, appreciating form and emptiness/solidity and air, mostly shot in the urban metropolis that is Milton Keynes.
